Fleapit Presents! A neurotic couple is brought to the edge of calamity or commitment by the arrival of a traumatized rescue dog. Funny, surprising, and tender, The Heirloom draws on filmmaker/actor Ben Petrie and co-star Grace Glowicki's real-life relationship to produce an intimate portrait of a couple on the brink.
The Heirloom will be preceded by short film The Night is the Hardest Time (Heather Young, 2018), and followed by an Artist-to-Artist Talk (see below) and Audience Q&A!

Director & co-star Ben Petrie joins local auteur Heather Young, following The Heirloom (Dec. 5th) for an in-depth conversation on Petrie’s feature directorial debut – an unmoderated dialogue between filmmakers at the forefront of new Canadian indie cinema. Audience Q&A will follow artist talk.
The Heirloom will be preceded by the short film The Night is the Hardest Time(2018) by Heather Young, commissioned by the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma de Montréal and never-before screened publicly in Halifax.
