dir. John Walker / Canada / 2016 / 89 minutes
This screening is part of New Frontiers in Documentary: European and Canadian Perspectives sponsored by the Canada Research Chair in European Studies (Dalhousie University), in cooperation with AFCOOP.
John Walker’s latest film is a meditation on his identity as a Quebecer and the transformation of the society since the Quiet Revolution of the 1960s. Featuring interviews with Denys Arcand, Jacques Godbout, and a younger generation of Quebec indépendantistes, as well as footage of the vote on Scottish independence, it is both a detailed documentary investigation and a nuanced personal meditation.
