Jake befriends Tony when his family moves back to Brooklyn after the death of his grandfather. Initially, the two young boys are inseparable, but the adult world begins to push in. Tony's mother, a dressmaker from Chile, runs a shop beneath their apartment and when Jake's parents demand a new, unaffordable lease to keep the store open, the feud between the families strains the relationship between Jake and Tony. Directed by Ira Sachs (Love is Strange) with his trademark humanism and insight, Little Men highlights the New York City landscape with a story of life-defining friendships in the midst of familial turmoil.
