Bridgeport, January 17, 2008. A teenage girl is found hanged in her room. While everything points to suicide, the autopsy report reveals something else.
Ten years later, the director and cousin of the teenager examine the past causes and future consequences of this unsolved crime.
Like an imagined biography, the film explores the relationship between the security of the living space and the violence that can jeopardize it.
Bridgeport, 17 janvier 2008. Une adolescente est retrouvée pendue dans sa chambre. Alors que tout porte à croire qu’il s’agit d’un suicide, le rapport d’autopsie révèle quelque chose d’autre.
Dix ans plus tard, la réalisatrice et cousine de l’adolescente examine les causes passées ainsi que les conséquences futures de ce crime non résolu.
Telle une biographie imaginée, le film explore la relation entre la sécurité du lieu de vie et la violence qui peut la mettre en péril.

Following the shooting of a documentary on the death of her daughter, a mother reflects on her own life and especially on the passing of time.
Suite au tournage d'un documentaire sur la mort de sa fille, une mère réfléchit à sa propre vie et surtout au temps qui passe.
Director Bio
Miryam Charles is a Haitian-Canadian director, producer and cinematographer. She has produced several short and feature films. Her films have been shown at various festivals in Quebec and abroad.
In 2022, her first feature film Cette maison (This House) was presented at the Berlinale, the Viennale, the TIFF Top 10 and was named one of Sight and Sound's best films of the year. The same year, she debuted the short film “Au crépuscule” (“At Dusk”) at the Locarno Film Festival.
Bio de la réalisatrice
Miryam Charles est une réalisatrice, productrice et cinématographe canadienne d’origine haïtienne vivant à Montréal. Elle a produit plusieurs courts et longs métrages de fiction. Ses films ont été présentés dans divers festivals au Québec et à l’international.
Son premier long métrage Cette maison a été présenté à la Berlinale, à l’AFI film festival en plus de faire partie du TIFF Top 10 en 2022. Elle a également présenté la même année le court-métrage “Au crépuscule” au festival de Locarno.
