dir. Fiona Gordon & Dominique Abel / France, Belgium / 2016 / 83 minutes
Drawing on a 25-year career of physical comedy collaborations that have appeared on stage and screen, Fiona Gordon and Dominique Abel do it all in this whimsical slapstick tour through the French capital. Besides writing and directing, they also star, respectively, as Fiona (a hapless librarian) and Dom (a charming vagrant). Fiona has flown to Paris on short notice after an emergency letter from her aunt, played by the legendary Emmanuelle Riva. She arrives to find that her aunt has disappeared, and the resulting adventure is one of hilariously hectic set pieces and spectacularly choreographed antics that draws inspiration from such comedic masters as Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Jacques Tati.
Presented in French with English subtitles.
